How often should I have Service?

Every grease trap is different. Just because you have more people come through daily, doesn’t always mean you need service more often. If you have fewer customers but serve food with a higher grease content, you may need service more often. Each factor plays with and against another.

How often you need your grease trap cleaned depends on these factors:

How does a Grease Trap Work?

A grease trap is an engineered device designed to trap spent Fats, Oils and Grease (FOG) and associated solids and debris from food service establishment waste streams, preventing entry of these materials into municipal sewer lines. The grease trap captures those wastes and contains them until they are vacuum pumped and disposed of properly. If you operate a food service establishment, you should have and maintain a grease trap.

Even with regular cleaning, no grease trap is 100% effective. There is still a chance that some grease may pass into your outlet line and result in grease/sewage backups into your facility. If you want to further prevent this from happening, we offer Preventative Maintenance packages to ensure that your grease trap will run as efficient as possible and to also help prevent backups.
